4th OF JULY FRUIT PIZZA

4th of July is here! This is by far my favorite holiday of the entire year. Matt and I always spend the weekend in Door County, WI with his family and we always have so much fun :) I like to bring some kind of festive treat for holiday weekends so this time I made a 4th of July themed fruit pizza! If you haven't noticed this yet, I tend to go for really easy recipes because I am by no means Betty Crocker so this is not only a really tasty and festive treat but so easy to make too. Hope you all have a great 4th of July celebrating with friends and family!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Crust:
cooking spray
1 package of refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 package of blueberries
1 package of strawberries
2 bananas

"Sauce":
1 package (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
4 oz (1/2 an 8 oz container) Cool Whip, thawed

Glaze:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
2 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Spray pizza sheet with cooking spray. Spread cookie dough evenly over sheet. Bake at 350 for 15-20 min until very lightly golden brown. Let cool for an hour or more.
2)  Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in whipped topping. Spread evenly over the crust.
3) Make glaze while crust is still cooling. In a saucepan, bring sugar, OJ, water, lemon juice, cornstarch, and salt to a boil, stirring constantly for 2 min or until thickened. Let cool and brush over fruit. Store in refrigerator.
4) Enjoy!

  17. That look so yummy! I don't live in the US and 4th of July is no longer my country's Independence Day either, maybe I'll do this with a different design instead :D
